A travel app for family-friendly road trips
CONTEXT
As a proof of concept trivago assembled a lean yet heavyweight team consisting of engineers and creatives. Our goal was to develop a completely new product, from idea to prototype and marketing, in under 12 weeks.
CHALLENGE
– How might we use data to help families with children (in the US) find great travel destinations within reasonable distance?
– How might we nudge families to take on a short holiday trip with the kids?
– How might we create a completely new product, end-to-end, in a 12-week cycle?
OUTCOME
As a team of three senior engineers and one creative/design lead, we launched an MVP, including marketing campaign and tracking, within Q3. It validated the model adopted in the lab and also matched several of trivago baseline metrics such as CPC and CTR.
